Visitors

There are a number of different types of visas available for people who wish to visit Australia temporarily. These visas usually allow multiple travel to Australia and will entitle the holder to stay for up to three months (short stay) or six to 12 months months (long stay). These visas are for people who are tourists, travelers, holiday makers, visiting relatives or friends, or visiting to have medical treatment.

These visa categories are:

Tourists

  • Electronic Travel Authority (Subclass 601)
  • eVisitors (Subclass 651)
  • Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)

Working Holiday

  • Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)
  • Work & Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)

Retirement

  • Retirement Visa (Subclass 410 not available to new applicants)
  • Investor Retirement Visa (Subclass 405)

Medical Treatment

  • Medical Treatment Visa (Subclass 602)

Transit through Australia

  • Transit Visa (Subclass 771)
